Redland Community Farm & Market is a non-profit that was developed to manage a 22 acre organic farm and a marketplace. Both the farm and marketplace aim to offer opportunity for training, education and development to the underserved and veteran population.

Redland Community Farm and Market operates under the 501(c)3 Redland Ahead. An organization which cause is to serve the veteran community with a farmer training program as well.

In 2017 while working with the Miami Dade County Homeless Trust, Redland Ahead took over management of the 22 acre certified organic farm and the market located at 12690 SW 280th St. in Homestead. Redland Ahead was successfully managing a similar program with the Veterans to Farmer program. The Redland Community Farm & Market began a program that would primarily focus on the underserved community.

The farm training program aims to educate and train participants in four different farming styles, row, tree, shade and livestock. Once completed in the participants are then offered land to lease and try their hands at the agri business themselves or they can be appropriately placed within the agricultural economy in South Florida. Either way they are transitioning from poverty into prosperity, with hard work of course!

The Market offers all job opportunities to the surrounding supportive housing community residents first. Our goal is to give as many jobs as we can to those who need them the most. These opportunities provide training in a retail environment as well as some food service training and experience.
